Central Coast Council is inviting businesses, community groups and event organisers to propose an event, or activity to be a part of the annual 10-day Lakes Festival program celebrating the Coast’s diverse waterways.The Lakes Festival, scheduled to run from 3-12 November 2023, is an annual reminder of the variety of lakes and waterways available on the Central Coast.

Central Coast Council is working with the community collecting feedback to help improve Council’s water and sewer services.

The Central Coast’s longstanding reputation as a tourist hotspot shows no signs of abating with the region proving a popular holiday destination for visitors during what was a picture-perfect summer.

Detailed planning for Wyong and Tuggerah is well underway with extensive public consultation beginning from Friday 10 February.The Wyong District Place Plan applies to the Wyong and Tuggerah town centres and surrounding areas and will align current and future projects with the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Central Coast Council is inviting the community to review and provide comment on its draft Planning Agreement Policy.  The Policy is on exhibition from 7 February to 7 March 2023.

Council has started construction of the new skate park and pump track at Kariong Oval which is designed for a range of ages, abilities, and wheels.

Central Coast Council is currently exhibiting its draft Plan of Management for Council Community Land and is seeking comments and feedback from the Central Coast community about what the 2,000 community land parcels across 400 sites should be used for.  The five categories which can apply to community land are:   General community use  Sportsgrounds  Parks  Culturally significant sites  Natural area:

Gosford Regional Gallery is pleased to announce the winner of this year’s EMERGING art prize, with $5,00 in prize money awarded to Monica Rani Rudhar from Sydney.

Nominations for the 2023 Central Coast Youth Week Awards are now open, giving local youth aged 12 to 24 years the opportunity to be recognised for their outstanding contributions to the region.

Central Coast Council is currently undertaking a road condition survey across the region’s entire sealed road network of more than 2,000 kilometres, using state-of-the-art technology to efficiently gather accurate data for effective road management and works planning.

I’d like to thank everyone who stopped by for a chat with me at the Australia Day community event in Leagues Club Park, Gosford last week, where I hosted a pop-up stall to hear from members of our community.  I really enjoyed hearing the perspectives of many residents and visitors who came by the Council tent, where our discussions ranged from the event itself, to thoughts on the plans for Gosford waterfront's revitalisation, and general Council matters like roads and infrastructure.  I value the chance to hear directly from members of our community about what matters to them and will be hosting more pop-ups at Central Coast Council events throughout the year.  Administrator pop-ups at Council events in 2023:

With the population of Warnervale and surrounding suburbs expected to nearly double over the next two decades, Council is actively taking steps to ensure that future development is both responsible and sustainable for residents and the environment.  It is anticipated that nearly 57,000 people will call Warnervale home by 2041.

Central Coast Council’s biennial EMERGING art prize for early career artists will be announced at Gosford Regional Gallery on 3 February 2023, as part of this year’s EMERGING exhibition.

Central Coast Council will extend the public exhibition period of the new Plan of Management for Council community land as public hearings are set to get underway in early February.After taking account of the level of community interest in the process, the public exhibition period for the Plan of Management will be extended for an extra week until Tuesday 1 March 2023.A series of independent public hearings will start on Wednesday 1 February, with two hearings to be held at Wyong Administration Centre and other hearings at community venues in The Entrance, Erina and Woy Woy.  Interested members of the community are urged to pre-register to help manage seating capacity on the night.
