Step 1: Pre-Lodgement

Pre-lodgement is the front end of the DA process. If you get the front end right you are likely to have a simple DA process. Giving council an assessment-ready application, with all required information will not ‘guarantee’ approval – however, it will promote an efficient process, saving time and money, for both you and council. Further details regarding this step of the DA process, can be accessed HERE.

Council also recognises the need in the community for technical advice associated with development and wants to ensure this advice provided is provided promptly. In this regard, Council offers a range of services to discuss preliminary development and zoning matters with Council staff members including town planners, building surveyors and development engineers. A request for a Pre Development Meeting and Advice can be accessed HERE, and are provided as per the adopted fee.

Council has complied useful forms, guides and policies associated with the preparation and assessment  of DAs and these can be accessed HERE.

You can also get a 10.7 Certificate which identifies the land constraints on your property. To order property certificates, you must first register an account and then you can ‘Apply for a Certificate’ using Councils Property and Payment Portal
